Nominations are now open for the 2026 HESTA Australian Nursing and Midwifery Awards

In its 20th year, the awards honour the significant contributions made to the Australian community by nurses, midwives, nurse educators, researchers, and personal care workers.

“Nurses and midwives play a vital role in shaping healthier communities through their unwavering care, expertise, and compassion. They make a difference that truly deserves to be celebrated and honoured,” said HESTA CEO Debby Blake.

A prize is on offer for the winner of each of the following categories:

• Nurse of the Year
• Midwife of the Year
• Outstanding Organisation

Key dates

Nominations open: 28 October 2025 – 18 January 2026

Finalists announced: 14 April 2026

Winners revealed: 14 May 2026 at a special ceremony in Melbourne
