A little super knowledge could go a long way
New research from the Super Members Council(1) has found that nearly half of Australians don’t feel confident about the basics of super.
But for those who do understand their super, they’re much more likely to take meaningful steps such as making extra contributions, comparing fees and checking their investments.(1)
It’s a good reminder that even small actions can make a real difference when you’re ready to retire. Things like:
- Logging into your account to check your super balance and investment options
- Looking at whether combining multiple super accounts into one makes better sense for you; and
- Topping up your super contributions beyond what your employer provides
It only takes a few minutes
The Super Members Council, which represents members like you, has launched a new ‘Look After Your Super’ campaign which features a ‘Golden Super Goose’.
Just like the golden goose in the fairytale, your super has the potential to keep delivering for you over the long term – especially when you give it some attention. Go to lookafteryoursuper.com.au to better understand some common super questions and answers.
