Top Five Reasons Nurses should visit Golden Door

Loren Miller, a Registered Nurse and Nurse Educator from Golden Door, writes about why you should visit their facility.

Here at Golden Door we pride ourselves on providing you with foundations by which you can holistically transform your life.

Rest

Unfortunately Nursing is not always conducive to having enough rest or sleep. Often shift work with busy days or nights on your feet can be compounded by out of work commitments. This can leave you feeling exhausted and depleted. We provide a beautiful natural environment that is away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and work schedules. Our villas are designed with optimum rest in mind so that you can completely focus on you for a change. Our program is designed to educate you and naturally restore your circadian rhythms without distractions from technology.

Nourish

Busy lifestyles and work environments make it tricky to put healthy eating first. Our amazingly talented Chefs along with our Nutritionist have designed an incredibly balanced diet for all of our guests. The food here at Golden Door will nourish and energise you. The best part is that you don’t have to do any of the cooking or cleaning up! We also offer food education seminars, cooking demonstrations and a tour of our organic garden where much of our kitchen produce comes from.

Restore

Feeling tired and worn out is all too common place in the Nursing profession. Giving to everyone else can leave you feeling as if you’re running on empty. At Golden Door there are so many opportunities to restore your mind, body and soul. Let our amazing spa team take care of you, with beauty and body treatments. Our programs offer a range of movement classes and lots of opportunity to exercise to increase your energy and get you heading in the right direction.

Nurture

To avoid burn out it’s important to have some practical strategies up your sleeve to be able to apply to your day to day life. Our seminar series at Golden Door offers you educational opportunities to help build your resilience. Coupled with time spent in our yoga and meditation spaces can provide you with very practical applications that you can take home. Our Wellness Centre also has a very experienced team of practitioners who can offer you consultations in a variety of areas including Naturopathy, Wellness and Resilience Coaching, Hypnotherapy, Kinesiology, Breathing, Meditation and many, many more.

Recalibrate

Taking time out at Golden Door and stepping away from the pressures of a demanding career can give you time to really switch off and refocus. Our walks, hikes and tai chi practices give you many opportunities to ground yourself in nature, enjoy the sunshine and fresh country air.  We encourage mindfulness throughout the whole retreat experience and teach you how to incorporate restorative practices into each day.

You’ll leave feeling rested, recharged and refocused.
