Build skills, confidence, and safer practice through Clinical Supervision
Clinical Supervision is a structured support and well-being strategy that helps nurses and midwives reflect clinical practice, navigate workplace challenges, and strengthen professional skills.
Guided by a trained Clinical Supervisor, participants are encouraged to critically reflect on their experiences, enhancing their decision-making and build confidence in their practice.
As healthcare environments become increasingly complex, there is a growing demand for skilled Clinical Supervisors who can support colleagues to deliver safe, high-quality care while maintaining their own wellbeing.
Taking on the role of a Clinical Supervisor can be highly rewarding. It offers the opportunity to support others in their professional development, foster reflective practice and critical thinking, and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
Clinical Supervision is recommended for nurses and midwives across all levels of experience and areas of practice.
To help meet the growing need for trained supervisors, Clinical Supervision Consultancy, in partnership with the NSWNMA, is delivering an eight-day training program designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and practical techniques needed to facilitate both individual and group clinical supervision.
Interactive and experiential, the course will prepare participants to create supportive learning environments, help colleagues adapt to change, strengthen professional relationships, and encourage lifelong learning. The skills gained can benefit both individuals and organisations, and may also open opportunities to practice as a Clinical Supervisor in private settings.
The training will be held at the Association and will commence in May 2027. The eight-day program will be delivered across three blocks throughout the year in a 3-3-2 day format.
