A new study is exploring the confidence of nurse preceptors in critical care environments. This includes:

• Validating a confidence‑measurement instrument within the the critical care context
• Understanding baseline confidence levels among preceptors
• Exploring relationships between perceived confidence and preceptors’ professional characteristics and personal demographics

Who Can Participate?

Registered Nurses in Australia, both part‑time or full‑time, who have performed any precepting or support duties for at least one shift in any of the following areas:

• Perioperative settings (Anaesthetics, PACU, Scrub/Scout)
• ICU/NICU/PICU
• HDU
• CCU
• Cath Lab

What’s Involved?

You’ll be asked to complete an anonymous survey designed to explore:

• Your confidence in precepting, supporting, or teaching others in clinical settings
• The factors that influence your confidence

Your insights may help:

• Shape future preceptorship guidelines and frameworks
• Inform workplaces on how to better support and prepare confident preceptors
• Improve patient care, job satisfaction, and staff retention
