The Federal Government has commenced a series of inquiries into the impacts of care responsibilities for workers. The inquiries are seeking to establish;
- The adequacy of workplace laws in relation to protecting and supporting workers who have care responsibilities; and
- The economic and social impacts of creating an entitlement to extended unpaid carers leave to allow workers to provide informal care to older people who are frail and living at home.
With an ageing population, skills shortages in health care and beyond along with an aged care industry in crisis, the role of informal carers and ensuring they are supported has never been more important.
We want to hear how carer responsibilities have impacted you and what measures we should be advocating for to better support those who perform the invaluable role of carer. Members can share their experiences and assist in fighting for carers to receive the support they deserve by completing this short survey. The information you provide may be used anonymously and included in our responses to these inquiries.
Survey closes 7 September 2022.
