The Federal Government has announced that it will relax work conditions for international nursing students, to provide workplace continuity in aged care, home care and other health contexts.
The changes will allow international nursing students working in these contexts to work more than the 40-hour fortnights currently allowed under their student visa conditions.
The Government has indicated that the 20,000 international nursing students will assist Australia’s 900 residential aged care providers and 1000 home care providers in ensuring that care can be provided to the country’s most vulnerable.
