I am a former FACS nurse who was forced over to an NGO provider. I thought I was protected for two years but they say for a casual it is six months. Is that right?
Unfortunately, that is correct. The safety net that the NSW government provided to casuals working at FACS was that “you will be retained on the new operator’s casual roster for at least the six month Employment Guarantee period.” The two-year period was made available to full-time and part-time staff.
