Karl from Vitruvian Health shares his easy 5 step recipe for making pizza at home – healthy style!
Ingredients
- 500g of beef mince (non meat eaters can substitute this with chopped mushrooms)
- 500g bag of frozen capsicums (or 2 – 3 fresh any coloured capsicums)
- 1 – 2 onions (depending on how much you like onion!)
- 1x can of organic tomato paste
- 1x gluten free thick pizza base
- Bag of lactose free cheese
- 1x bottle of sugar free sweet chilli sauce
- Seasoning – salt and pepper, cumin to add to the mince / mushrooms
You should be able to get all of this at your local supermarket.
Method
Now that you have your ingredients, make sure you have your oven turned to 180 degrees. Get your oven tray lined with baking paper too, and you fry pans on mid heat.
Step 1: Chop
- Chop up the onions and capsicums.
Step 2: Cook
- Spray 2 pans with coconut oil spray. Pan fry onions, stirring occasionally. Add capsicum when onion has browned.
- Fry mince in a separate pan until browned.
Step 3: Make
Now the fun part! Make the pizza.
- Start by adding the tomato paste to the pizza base, then spread the mince / mushrooms evenly over the base.
- Spread the capsicum, then drizzle the sweet chilli sauce over the toppings.
- Sprinkle with cheese, then salt and pepper.
Step 4 Bake
- Bake in the oven for approximately 10 – 15 mins depending on your base crispiness preference
Step 5 Enjoy!
- Remove from the oven, let cool. Take a photo and tag us!
