The Social Issues Committee Palliative Nurse Education Grant was formed in 2019. The grant is tenable by a Registered Nurse seeking to upskill in palliative care. The applicant does not need to have a CWA of NSW connection.
Applications open 1 August and close 30 September each year. Late applications will not be accepted. All applications will be treated in the strictest confidence.
Applicants must be:
• a NSW Registered nurse
• a resident of NSW
• working in or intention to work in rural/regional/remote NSW
• working in a public health setting
• able to provide their current AHPRA number.
Applicants are required to include in their application which course (Australian course provider) they wish to undertake and the course fee. Only the course fee is covered by the grant – up to a maximum of $3,000. For example, a “Professional Certificate in Palliative Care Nursing” on-line course is conducted through the University of South Australia.
