I am an RN and I have been on maternity leave for the past 12 months, and haven’t undertaken any CPD. Can you suggest where I can access courses online before registration renewal?
The NSWNMA offers a free online education package to all financial members, including while on maternity leave, as part of your membership fees.
To access it, log in to Member Central and navigate to the Education tab drop down list to find iLearn.
You register on the platform in a few simple steps the first time, and after that you can simply log in. You will be able to search through a large selection of short online learning modules to meet your self-identified learning needs. The program also keeps a record of all your learning and provides certificates to download once complete.
Even if you are on leave, you still have an obligation to undertake continuing professional development (CPD) hours in accordance with the Ahpra NMBA CPD registration standard.
Ideally, your CPD will come from a variety of sources throughout the practice year. Education is planned to meet knowledge gaps or refresh knowledge and is relevant to your context of practice.
You can find further guidance regarding the CPD registration standard on the NMBA website by clicking here.
