Josh from the Immigration Advice and Rights Centre provides The Lamp with an update on the Skilled Work Regional subclass 491 visa.
NSW will open a window for people to register their interest for the Skilled Work Regional subclass 491 visa on 1 October 2021. This window will close on 31 October 2021.
NSW will use this registration process to nominate people for the subclass 491 visa.
You can only register your interest if you have already lodged an expression of interest through SkillSelect and your occupation appears on a relevant NSW skilled occupation list. The list includes midwives, registered nurses, nurse managers, and nurse educators and researchers.
Importantly, you do not need to be living in NSW to register your interest.
For more information regarding the occupations and lodging a registration of interest please refer to the NSW Government website.
The above is not intended to be legal advice. If you have any queries about the above you should contact the NSW Nurses and Midwives’ Association for a referral to Visa Assist, the free and confidential immigration advice service for union members.
