Researchers at the Swinburne University would like to request your input into a study being conducted by PhD candidate, Subhash Kuppadakkath, and a team of researchers, at Swinburne University of Technology, Victoria. We would like to conduct a survey of nurses working in a residential aged care facilities who provide care to residents.
The issue of medication errors continues to be significant within residential aged care facilities across Australia. We are undertaking a project to explore ways of reducing medication errors among older people living in residential aged care facilities (RACF). As part of this project, we are seeking permission to explore the views of key stakeholders that are involved in the delivery of care within RACF. You have been invited to participate in this research if you are a nurse working in a residential aged care facility that provides care to residents. You are invited for the second phase of the project, which is a survey for the suggestions and recommendations to reduce medication errors in aged care facilities.
The overall aim of this project is to provide recommendations to reduce medication errors in RACF.
This study is being undertaken in 2 phases. Phase 1 involved the use of semi-structured interviews to seek the views of Registered nurses currently working within different RACF. The 2nd phase, which you are now being invited to participate in involves the use of a survey to examine the views of a wider population of Registered and Enrolled Nurses working across Australia. The online survey, seeks your views about the causes and strategies that can be used to reduce the incidence of medication errors in RACF.
The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.
The data will be retained for 5 years for publications purposes.
