I work in an aged care facility run by Uniting. How do we discuss concerns regarding workloads?
Under Clause 47 of the UnitingCare Aged Care Residential & Community Services Agreement (NSW) 2014–2017, the accepted starting point for such discussions should be with your immediate supervisor, and if the matter is not resolved it should be escalated to more senior management. Records should be kept and feedback provided by managers. In addition, clause 47 requires workload management to be an agenda item at staff meetings on at least a quarterly basis. Items in relation to workloads must be recorded in the minutes of the staff meeting, as well as actions to be taken to resolve the workloads issue/s.
