Ask Shaye – Workers comp expenses and treatment for non- permanent impairment
For how long can a worker with no permanent impairment claim workers’ compensation expenses and treatment?
Workers with no permanent impairment or a permanent impairment assessed as 10 per cent or less, are limited to claiming expenses and treatment for two years after weekly payments stop being payable or two years from the date of claim if no weekly payments are made.
Different (higher) limits apply for those with a permanent impairment greater than 10 per cent. Any disputes about such payments could be made to the insurer in the first instance and if it is not resolved then to the Independent Review Office.
