On call during break at Opal

January 29, 2019

I work in a facility operated by Opal. What should I be paid if
I have to be on call during my meal break?

Under Clause 30.1(b) and Schedule D of the Opal Aged Care (NSW) Enterprise Agreement 2016, an employee required to remain available for duty during a meal break will be paid an “on call during meal break allowance”, which is currently $11.83 (provided that only one allowance shall be payable in any period of 24 hours).
