I am currently employed under the Nurses Award. What are my parental leave entitlements from my employer?   

Sadly, not much. Clause 24 of the Nurses Award refers to the parental leave entitlements set out in the Fair Work Act. In short, your entitlement to parental leave is up to 12 months of unpaid parental leave. You can also request up to a further 12 months of leave. Eligibility is limited to those who have worked for their employer for at least 12 months before the date or expected date of birth, adoption or surrogacy, or have primary responsibility for the care of a child.
