Question: I am a Registered Nurse working in a public hospital. I recently had a stint of sick leave that exhausted my paid entitlement. The hospital then put me onto sick leave without pay. What other options do I have?

Answer: If you exhaust your paid sick leave entitlement, you may alternatively choose to be paid annual leave or long service leave for this period. This entitlement is set out in PD 2014_029 (Leave Matters for the NSW Health Service), section 3.1.
