Feedback on the Residential Tenancies Amendment (Prohibiting No Grounds Evictions) Bill 2024
The Residential Tenancies Amendment (Prohibiting No Grounds Evictions) Bill 2024 (the bill) seeks to amend the Residential Tenancies Act 2010 to prohibit no grounds termination of residential tenancy agreements. The bill would not affect a landlord’s right to terminate a lease for existing reasons under the Act, including for a breach of the tenancy agreement, damage to the property, use of the premises for illegal purposes, or non-payment of rent.
