Postgraduate programs in Nursing offered from the Werribee Clinical School
If you are looking to return to practice as a registered nurse, then Notre Dame’s Graduate Certificate in Contemporary Nursing, which includes a focus on caring for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, is for you. This full-time, entry-to-practice program for registered nurses will address your professional obligations, enabling a confident return to the workforce. The program’s practical component offered in Werribee will ensure you are well prepared for the workplace.
The Graduate Certificate in Clinical Nursing is for graduate nurses who want to enhance their clinical knowledge and improve decision-making skills. Designed for the newly qualified nurse in their first year of practice, it can be completed in one year of part-time study through a mixture of practical and online learning. Upon completion, graduates can undertake a further year of study to obtain a Graduate Diploma of Clinical Nursing and, later, a Master of Nursing can be completed with additional study. Applicants need to be a current employee at a healthcare institution.
Postgraduate programs in Midwifery from the Werribee Clinical School
For those keen to return to practice as a registered midwife, the 14-week-long, full-time Graduate Certificate in Contemporary Midwifery program will address your professional obligations and have you back in the workforce confidently. You will complete a practical component in Werribee to ensure your skills are up to date. With a focus on critical thinking, clinical reasoning, reflection and the use of current evidence and research to make sound clinical judgments, this program will prepare you to practise safely in maternity environments.
Notre Dame’s highly-respected Graduate Diploma of Midwifery is for registered nurses interested in embarking on a career in midwifery. This 18-month full-time program will allow you to gain additional registration as a registered midwife and is available in Werribee for the first time in 2024. Commonwealth supported places are available to eligible applicants.
