Riegel Peters nominated nurse Tyson Peters as our September nurse of the month.
Tyson is always going beyond his role as a Registered Nurse, and always going an extra mile. He is a good leader, and an exceptional and very caring RN. Most of all, he is very creative, innovative and very passionate about education and innovation.
He has done very creative educational packages about dementia in his previous work at Bulli Hospital that helped the staff become more aware and knowledgeable about the syndrome. He has led several projects in Bulli Hospital and Wollongong Hospital, created videos and educational packages on his own time to distribute to staff and help them to better understand the horrible illness. He also participated in creating the video for the 20:20 Vision Conference that was shown in Switzerland to promote the conference to be held here in Wollongong this year. Previously, he won a Lunch with the Leader award to recognise his works and passion about dementia and education.
Currently, he is developing another educational package in regards to infection control on his own time. Professionally and personally, I believe all his passion, dedication and selflessness deserves to be recognised and appreciated in order to educate and help staff gain a better understanding about dementia and infection control. He is a very hardworking Registered Nurse who never wants anything in return.
