9 nursing and midwifery TV shows you MUST watch
We’ve all got our guilty pleasures. Nurses and midwives told us on Facebook what their favourite bingeworthy nursing and midwifery TV shows are.
1. All Saints
“Sister Terri Sullivan was the reason I became a nurse,” one commenter said.
2. Call the midwife
A solid British drama, and one of the few to revolve around midwifery.
3. Getting on
Hands down, the best nursing comedy around.
4. ER
Any show with George Clooney and Juliana Margullies is worth taking time out for.
5. RPA
Filmed in Sydney’s own Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, this TV documentary lets us in to one of Australia’s busiest emergency departments.
6. 24 hours in A&E
The British version of RPA, this show takes us behind the scenes of some of England’s busiest Accident and Emergency departments.
7. RFDS
A true Aussie drama that’s worth bingeing on.
8. One born every minute
Another medical TV doco, this show offers unprecedented access into some of the UK’s busiest labour wards. It now has spin-offs in 9 countries (including Australia).
9. A Country Practice
An absolute classic of Aussie TV, it’s no wonder this show was once Australia’s longest running show!
And no, Grey’s Anatomy doesn’t make the cut – any show with three doctors turning a patient will NEVER make the list!
